Friday, June 30, 2006Harvard GraduationHello...It was POURING during the graduation - this is a view of the sea of umbrellas...The rain warped our mortar boards... Me in Harvard Square - for the last time. This is my dad's attempt at being funny... Two Cali girls... Friends! This was at my reception/party at the end of the day... Me with the proud parents. Couldn't have done it without mom and dad! Thursday, June 29, 2006Like Learning How To Ride A BikeOkay, okay - no excuses. I've been out of the "blog" world for a while. The thing is... I've been busy. You see, I GRADUATED (WHOOPEE!!) and had to move all my Boston-acquired sh!t home to California. Then there was that whole little tid-bit about celebrating and catching up with my Cali friends and lots of sleeping-in to do. I'm a busy girl. You know how it is. I've been trying to post photos from the big day but seem to be running into a little trouble. As soon as I get them up, you'll be the first to know... assuming you're the first to visit the site after posting. Or whatever. Hey, I may have gone to Harvard, but I still have my moments. Shut it. Anyway, I hope to be more active and more regular with the blogging. It's good to be home. Wednesday, June 14, 2006Feels So GoodAfter all the headache of school and moving, it's nice to finally be home. The weather is warm, the sun in bright and the smiles are abundant. I forgot how much I missed this place... family and friends included. It might sound weird, but I sort of like the traffic too (having a car to drive around in again is GREAT). There are moments when I miss Cambridge. I miss the people (like the concierge, who was part of my daily life), I miss the beauty (of the trees, the flowers, the buildings, Fresh Pond), I miss the sports enthusiasm (GO SOX!) and mostly, I miss my friends. I had a lot of good times out there and I wish there were parts that I could pick up in my hands and set down in Southern California. But, alas, as much as I may think so - I am not God. Just gives me an excuse to go back and visit! Then I look around and remember how good it is to live here. Miles from both the beach and the mountains. The people are prettier. The air is not humid on a beautiful day (usually). I know this place - and if I get lost, I know how to turn myself around without having to pay tolls. I have my family and friends around me - OFTEN. All the important things came rushing back into my life when I moved home. I think this past year couldn't have been at a better time. It gave me time to have my OWN adventure. I got to miss people - which is important. I did something that was all mine and I knew I had to learn to swim before the tides washed over me. It was a refreshing feeling; in many ways, I learned a lot about myself this past year. But it's always good to come home. I'm back, baby! Monday, June 05, 2006A Shout OutA shout out (HOLLA) to my favorite celebrity-crush, Ron Livingston. Happy 39th Birthday, my dear friend. You're still on my top 5 list. Yummm!
